Cultural Matters: New movies out of Scotland

Scottish cinema has always paled in comparison to its southern neighbor England. But in 2012, a number of films filmed in or about Scotland are coming.

Brave
The newest Pixar film is set in mythical 10th century Scotland, and features several prominent Scottish celebrities, such as Kelley MacDonald, Billy Connolly, Robbie Coltrane and Craig Ferguson, as well as Emma Thompson and Julie Walter's


World War Z
Base don the best-selling Max Brooks novel, and set in Philadelphia, the Hollywood production starring Brad Pitt was filmed in Scotland, including a number of scenes filmed in Glasgow. Below are clips form that filming.

Perfect Sense
A 2011 film about a chef (Ewan McGregor) and a scientist (eve Green) who fall in love just as an epidemic hits that robs people of their sensory perceptions. It was filmed and set in Glasgow.
